“The community is having problems with the new fortress raid duration of 30 minutes. It also seems to cause a problem with the Dredgion. Will the time get adjusted again so that it is possible to attack and not only defend them?”

The siege system’s timers have been topics for debate dating back to a patch we released for Aion just before the end of last year. The argument is that the new 30-minute siege duration, during which the Guardian Deity is present, is too short for a siege to be easily completed.

The timer change was initially brought to the table when we wanted to make fortresses change hands less often and be more valued. We wanted to make fortresses a little bit harder to take and a little bit easier to defend. The two-hour vulnerability timer we had at day one was too long and gave attackers too much of an advantage.

In retrospect, the recent timer changes may have been too drastic and all parameters may not be optimal. We are actively monitoring the feedback you are giving us on the new duration and have kicked off a dialogue with the Development Team. We hope to have something to share with the community in the next few weeks. Rest assured, we are pursuing this issue.

Greetings and salutations!

We’ve been following discussions in the forums and on fansites extra closely lately. While we always roam the boards and read all the discussion there is, we cannot always reply. We want to let you know again that we appreciate your thoughts, and your ideas and suggestions for improvement are not going unnoticed.

Aion continues to develop on our side of things. We will make sure to announce information about upcoming content as soon as we have it. In the meantime, check out some of these community happenings:

Protect your account—Don't get phished!
Knite of Aionsource put together this comprehensive summary of what to be looking out for if you want to keep your account secure. It contains information and resources about detecting phishing scams both for Aion and elsewhere.

High Res Aion Panorama(s)
Aionsource member Amadaeo figured he’d grab a couple of panorama screenshots from Aion. Worth pointing out is that he’d love to rift over and take pictures in Asmodae as well, but odds are he’d be beaten back to the Stone Age if he tried.

[Turkish] New Guides from the Aion Universe Blog
Allegall is a long-time player of Aion and has been an active contributor to the Turkish section of the community through his blog. He recently posted two new guides, one for Ishalgen outdoor bosses and one for Altgard outdoor bosses. Check them out if you know the lingo!

Aion Origami
Aion—what? We bet you didn’t think someone, somewhere in the world, would sit down and think: “I enjoy folding paper, and I enjoy Aion. How can these two marvels be combined?” We certainly didn’t! Big shout out to Deceitful for his awesome take on Aion’s character classes in this impressive origami display.

Yeh..The fort timers are something I ponder myself.
Sometimes I feel that 30 mins isnt enough (take last night in Miren...if we had have had an extra 10 mins it would have been ours) but then again, in some fort sieges, especially when defending.....if the Ely give up rather easily as they did last night, we sit about dancing and duelling just waiting for the timer to click.........
So.......Im a little indifferent on this one.
If they were to alter them.....I would have thought 45 mins to an hour tops perhaps.

I tend to think that if you have a well organised side that prepares ahead of the forts becoming vulnerable, then 30 mins should be enough time to take it down......
I dunno.

The last time we Asmo attempted Miren was back when we had a 2 hour window and Neph was in it's prime. Even then, we would have been pushing to capture it in that 2 hours. God only knows how these legions are capping these middle forts in 30 minutes, esp with enemy intervention as well...

I dunno....The other night we got the boss down just past half way and that was with interruptions frome Ely a few times........so I think we could have done it within the hour. But yes, 30 mins isnt quite long enough it would seem....
Although, we did take Asteria and Roah, so it is possible if you have as much pew pew as poss and very few ely getting in the way I guess.
